I’ve been in love with the idea of creating a capsule wardrobe for over a year now. The idea of having a carefully curated and cohesive closet of clothing is such a dream. So, finally, I’m doing it!
One of the reasons I held off on creating a capsule wardrobe is because I didn’t want to fill it entirely with cheap, fast fashion items that could not withstand constant wear. I want to invest in durable and sustainable pieces that were created with the environment and garment workers in mind. I also need pieces that are fashionable and functional. As a breastfeeding mom, clothing that allows my child reasonably easy access to breastmilk is a must.
Besides my must-haves, my style is neutral with fun accent colors. I enjoy black, white, and grey more than anyone I know. My accent colors vary by season, although I’d wear plum all year-round.
Specifically, I’m trying Project 333 and my summer capsule will cover June, July and August. In short, I’ll be working with 33 items including clothing, accessories, jewelry, outerwear and shoes. It does not include sentimental jewelry I never remove such as my wedding ring, underwear, sleepwear, in-home loungewear and workout clothing.
I’m excited to finally be doing this and can’t wait to share more about it here on the blog. Make sure you’re subscribed so you don’t miss my summer capsule preview and breakdown coming soon!
