Move over March, April is here! With the beginning of April comes the end of my 30 day Yoga Challenge. Was it insightful? Did I succeed in doing yoga everyday? Am I a yoga guru now? Let’s get into it…
In short, yes, no, and definitely not. In all honesty, I fell off a few times throughout the month, especially toward the end. Things have been a little hectic and I got a bit relaxed with my evening yoga routine. However, I did learn a lot about my current ability level and where I am in my spiritual yoga journey. The challenge did show me that when I am consistent, yoga truly uplifts my mind, body and soul. I’d come onto my mat heavy and worn out from my day and leave so renewed and free. I know that yoga will always be a part of my life. I really hope that I can make it a daily practice at some point because it is so transformative for me.
Speaking of transformative, I’ve been considering adopting a whole food plant-based diet. This concept is nothing new to me, I’ve been a vegetarian off and on since high school. I’ve watched all of the documentaries and read a few articles. The impact agricultural farming has on the planet is unacceptable and the treatment of the animals is sickening. Most of all, I know from experience that my body thrives when I’m not consuming meat or dairy. However, I am breastfeeding and want to make sure that I craft a hearty and nutritious meal plan so that my breast milk composition doesn’t lack the vitamins and nutrients my baby still needs. Are you vegan or adopting a plant-based diet? Do you have any tips or words of advice for a baby vegan such as myself? I’d love to hear them in the comments.
